The Merry Widow

I love old sheet music and had been on the lookout for some to place on the piano. Not that I can play or read it.
I just think its charming looking.

So recently I finally scored some at a flea market. I dug through a pile about 8 inches thick for the ones with the best graphics on the cover.  There was however one I bought not because the cover was anything special ….but it was the name on it that caught my eye.

I have to say my first thought was who would name a waltz
“The Merry Widow”?   But then I found myself smiling as I was standing there looking at this sheet music in my hands.
The flea market was in this grove of trees in the middle of a field on a very lovely spring day. I was there with some of my besties.  And I was really having a nice time. I though Lord this is truly what you want for me… to be merry even widowed.
The word say in all things give thanks…Not that we are to be thankful for "all" thing. I’m not thankful that I’m widowed by no means. But I am thankful that "in" this God has shown me a depth of His great love.  A love, so kind so tender and so unfailing that it can make even a widow merry.

Tumbleweed wisdom

However, when they are little let them be cowboy’s ALL they want.

My daughter Sharayah, Shannie and I had some great giggles yesterday getting that shot of Waylon.

And our sweet tumbleweed was just as CONTENT as can be...as we giggled and I snapped away.
Yup, I think we have another little model in the family.

I told my daughter when he grows up we'll be very glad we have so many fun pictures of him.  He however may not be so happy about it…lol

I was listening to a talk show this morning about the healing power of laughter. No wonder I always feel refreshed being around my grandbabies.

Incidentally, anyone recognize where the hat and boots are from?

Well Peeps, have a belly laughing good day!

It's official

Well I agree my sweet Waylon ;)
But what I really meant was that Shannie is officially here for the summer…YIPPY!

And our adventures started with life’s simple joys.
Like this…
I was snapping some photos for something I was working on.
And to keep Shannie occupied I gave her this old vintage camera to check out.  It’s the kind you held at waist-leave and looked down into the viewfinder.

Well, I was right she had a blast. And while she walked around the yard spying things out to view…she quickly became my subject matter as she drew my attention with her wonder.

I love how children find so much joy in the ordinary.

So it turns out what I was working on fits perfect for today's post.
envisioned a picture in my mind when I read a quote recently. And this was the finish product. That I finally did get to, AFTER Shannie and I were done playing. Yes it is going to be a wonderful summer with BOTH my babies J

Please Don't Eat the Daisies!

Every year I need to find inventive ways to plant flowers in the dog yard so they don’t dig them up. I spend so much time outside with them I need it to be pretty.  And of course...
 I JUST LOVE FLOWERS!
Well this year I found out so does Jebediah…

Some real hope and change.

Around the end of 2011 I was feeling this nudge to start a daily journal.  Something I have done in varying degrees for many years, but never daily. I even purchased a really pretty hardcover journal to start writing in on New Year’s day 2012…. and I did just that. Then on the 11th of January that same year I started this blog. In a very short time this became my daily journal....and to be honest I’m not even sure where that hard cover journal is.  I realize now it was God going ahead of me. However he left out this one small detail when he was nudging me to journal daily. This was that it was going to be public and open for ALL to see as I would journey through the shattering of my heart and now the beginning process of Jesus picking up every scattered piece, and with all love and tenderness begin to restore my world.

So why I’m sharing all of that is… I realized it was time to change the description of this blog… which is to the right of this post under “About our Family”.  Not that I’m going to change what I blog …but WHY I blog has changed. And the description of my life and family has forever changed.
I wrote the bio in the third person this time to just stretching my creative muscle. And boy oh boy it sure is challenging to write about yourself in this manner.

So this is what I came up with.
I also added a little photo update of the pack for all my faithful doggie fans. :)

Anna started blogging to share her love of photography through the antics of a pack of dogs. She and her husband Richard fostered and rehabilitated many animals through the years as they shared a truly enchanted life in the world of dog rescue. Serving God in this very unique way became a life of great joy for them both.  In August of 2012 Richard was suddenly and unexpectedly promoted to Heaven. With that heartbreaking loss a new journey and season began for Anna. One she now shares openly in this blog.  The journey is real… sometimes raw and sometimes downright heart wrenching, but also filled with hope and encouragement that there is life after suffering such great loss. She continues to share her journey through the antics of the pack and the love of the lens.  She does this because the heart of a rescuer is the heart of a rescuer….whether it be two legged or four legged they want to see those who suffer set free from their pain. She hopes by sharing her journey that it may somehow comfort others and help them to “live like someone left the gate open”…..FREE!  Anna always believed every dog they cared for had a story and because they had made it into rescue that story had a “happy ever after”.  Now through the strength she draws from her faith in a God that has been relentlessly kind to her…the love of her family and friends and of course through the crazy antics of a pack of dogs… she is learning to believe she still has a “happy ever after” as well. Thank you for stopping by and sharing the journey with her.
